Division B Fire Towers
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service maintains a system of 21 look out towers at strategic locations throughout the state. All towers are still in active service.
Our network of lookout towers continue to be effective and observers detect one half of all wildfires reported. The other half are called in by the general public, aircraft pilots and forest fire patrols.

Apple Pie Hill tower- Tabernacle Township, Burlington County, New Jersey Elevation: 179 feet

Bass River tower- Bass River State Forest, Burlington County, New Jersey Elevation: 47 feet

Batsto tower- Wharton State Forest, Burlington County, New Jersey Elevation: 70 feet'

Cedar Bridge tower- Lacey Twp, Ocean County, New Jersey Elevation: 204 feet

Jamesburg tower- Thompson County Park, Jamesburg, New Jersey Elevation: 48 feet

Lakewood tower- Lakewood, New Jersey Elevation: 136 feet - Decommissioned on July 3, 2024 A new replacement to be built in Jackson Twp in 2025.

Lebanon tower- Brendan Byrne State Forest, Burlington County, New Jersey

Medford tower- Piper's Corner, Burlington County, New Jersey Elevation: 141 feet
